Motherhood has a dark side that rarely gets talked about in casual conversation. Women need a safe place to explore their complex feelings toward their children. We may feel anxiety, anger, aggression and resentment that at times, can feel completely overwhelming. We all need time to get away and think about our own needs, time for self care.
I run an ongoing support/therapy group for mothers; a safe place where you can come together and talk about these issues and give and receive support, both from each other as well as from a group leader who has training and expertise in these areas. Time away, to think about your needs and decompress.
Learn how you are affected by the way you were parented; how to respond instead of react when you get triggered; how to disengage from power struggles.
Parenting can be stressful whether our kids are infants, teens, or anywhere in between. We are all plagued with self-doubt as to whether we are good enough. Well, here’s the good news. If you are asking the question, you probably are. |
