*Replace habitual behaviors with flexible intentional actions

*Identify valued directions and act in accordance with aspirations

*Cultivate willingness, patience, compassion & forgiveness

*Use newly learned skills immediately

ACT offers a new vision and brings new hope to the struggle with unwanted emotions. Rather than fighting to control, eliminate or manage feelings, ACT shows you how to drop the struggle and accept your feelings without allowing them to rule your life

Mindfulness is the practice of cultivating non-judgmental awareness in order to meet and accept our strong emotions with patience, warmth and intelligence.

Sound-Voice-Music Healing practices utilize music's natural potential to evoke the full spectrum of emotions, create balance and harmony, deepen concentration & self-awareness, and quiet the mind.  These practices bypass the thinking mind and bring us into direct contact with our deepest emotional patterns.

Combined these modalities are highly effective antidotes to unwanted emotions. With practice, they can change your attitude toward yourself, others and your world... at the core!

Groups meet weekly on Monday, 6:00 to 7:30 PM at 2400 Sycamore Drive # 8, Antioch, CA 94509.

Professional Statement:

I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and hold Masters degrees in both Physiological Psychology and Counseling Psychology. I have trained and worked in a diversity of settings and have counseled clients from all walks of life.  In addition to facilitating seminars, trainings and groups, I have twenty years experience as an international consultant.

I have supplemental training in ACT, Buddhist psychology, Attachment Theory, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Crisis Intervention.  Additionally, I have advanced training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, EMDR, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Coaching, Sound, Voice Music Healing and Performance Wellness.

My goal in creating this workshop is to integrate specific modalities that get to the core of ‘stuckness’ and ‘transformation’ in a way that is fresh, alive and very direct.  I see ‘stuckness’ as the way we ward off our feelings and emotions, either through repression or acting out; and I see ‘transformation’ as a willingness to stay present with the immediacy of our experience without judgment, criticism or comparison. This workshop illuminates this process through the transformative experience of sound, voice and music.

I believe the ultimate goal of psychotherapy is to alleviate suffering, increase joy, balance and clarity and create change.  By gradually increasing your self-awareness and your ability to remain present, you learn to act, rather than react, control the direction and intensity of your thoughts, modulate your emotions and move forward with the life you want to live.
