Group Description:

Group for women who have symtoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Women in this group are high functioning women who struggle with anxiety, nightmares, night terrors, flashbacks, difficulty in their relationships.... Often women in this group feel isolated and have trouble in their interpersonal relationships because of their history of childhood abuse, assault, growing up in an uncaring or household in which they had problematic relationships with parents or siblings.... Fantastic group of women! Very helpful and empowering group! Feminist empowerment!

As a feminist therapist I am committed to helping women learn to become more empowered, grow, and learn to find their inner wisdom. I have over 20 years experience in helping women, adolescents, couples and families! I specialize in feminist therapy and in helping survivors of trauma, childhood abuse, sexual abuse/assault, rape, incest, neglect, victims of crimes and other forms of traumatic experiences. I am a board certified expert in the treatment of traumatic stress and am specially trained in the treatment of trauma and dissociation, PTSD, childhood abuse and other trauma related problems. I also have over 20 years experience in working with adolescents, LGBT issues, sexual and gender identity issues and other issues related to teen and LGBT lives. I work with coming out issues, identity issues, relationships, family issues, work place concerns, friendships, spirituality, and life transitions. Out of crisis comes opportunity. I think this is why I became a trauma expert. Life crisis brings the opportunity for growth, change and a deeper love for and understanding of life if you are willing to go through the struggle of healing emotional pain. I am trained in EMDR, TAT, energy psychology, feminism and feminist therapy, sandplay, creative therapies and DNMS. I use a combination approach of Object Relations, talk therapy, creative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, ego state therapy, DBT therapy, and feminist therapy.
